A bright purple hand sculpted Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) sugar skull, mounted as a candleholder (black sparkly candle included), created by sculptor and art doll artist Kat Anderson. Unusual decorative item!
Measures approximately 5 1/2" (14cm) across by almost 5" (13cm) tall (without candle). Painted polymer clay.
About the artist: Kat Anderson is a mixed media artist from Shelton, Washington, working primarily with polymer and air-dry clays, textiles and fiber. Creating one-of-a-kind art dolls has become a full-time passion for her, and her work is a constantly growing process.
She has a unique style, and her work generally centers around the celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Halloween, as well as a few other supernatural images.
Kat's work was the focus of a feature article in the prestigious "Art Doll Quarterly" magazine for the Fall 2016 issue-- this is the premier art doll collector magazine in the world, and the article is testament to Kat's superb work and vision.
