A hand sculpted and elaborately decorated Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) "Rainbow Bird" ornament or hanging created by sculptor and art doll artist Kat Anderson. Unusual decorative item!
Measures approximately 7-8" (19cm) long, depending on how the feathers hang. Hand formed and painted polymer clay with metal fittings and brightly colored feathers-- with hanger attached.
About the artist: Kat Anderson is a mixed media artist from Shelton, Washington, working primarily with polymer and air-dry clays, textiles and fiber. Creating one-of-a-kind art dolls has become a full-time passion for her, and her work is a constantly growing process.
She has a unique style, and her work generally centers around the celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Halloween, as well as a few other supernatural images.
Kat's work was the focus of a feature article in the prestigious "Art Doll Quarterly" magazine for the Fall 2016 issue-- this is the premier art doll collector magazine in the world, and the article is testament to Kat's superb work and vision.
